ONLINE SAFETY

Argyle ISD is committed to providing a safe digital learning environment for all students. In compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act and guidance from the Texas Education Agency, we implement the following practices to protect students online:

  • We use internet filtering systems designed to limit minors’ access to inappropriate or harmful content. Websites are organized into categories, and those identified as unsafe or not suitable for school are automatically blocked, while appropriate educational resources remain accessible. Because countless new websites are created daily, some sites may not be categorized correctly right away. When identified, adjustments are made promptly. • We promote the safety and security of students when using email, chat, and other forms of digital communication by monitoring activity on school-issued devices and accounts, and providing appropriate safeguards and supervision.

  • We take steps to prevent unauthorized access to systems, including “hacking” and other unlawful online activities, through network protections, user authentication, and monitoring tools.

  • We protect against the unauthorized disclosure, use, or sharing of students’ personal information by implementing secure systems, limiting access to sensitive data, and educating students on responsible digital behavior.

  • We enforce measures that restrict minors’ access to materials harmful to them, while continuing to review and refine our practices to maintain a balance between student safety and access to meaningful educational content.

To support families at home, we also provide access to GoGuardian Parent, which allows parents and guardians to view their student’s browsing activity and set additional controls on school-issued devices outside of school hours.
