On a Chromebook, the error “Could not mount cryptohome” usually means the device is unable to access the user’s encrypted home directory. This is usually caused when a user changes their password while being logged into a Chromebook. When prompted to enter your password to sync the cryptohome, the user either needs to enter their old password or remove the account and sign back in. The steps below walk you through removing the account and signing back in.
1. From the sign-in screen, click the ⌄ symbol next to the user name, an

2. Right-click the app that needs to be updated and then click ‘Edit Password’
